WRAPSODY: CHRISTMAS ALL WRAPPED UP!

I’m about to share with you a little bit of info that has the potential to make your Christmas preparations a whole lot easier and infinitely more stylish. But first, a message:

MUM, STOP READING NOW! STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER!

Anyone who is not my mother – that is to say everyone else in the ENTIRE WORLD – let’s keep going.

Oh hang on. MUM. I MEANT IT. STOP READING NOW. YOU’LL SPOIL THE SURPRISE.

Has she gone? Ok, quick; here’s what you need to know:

This Christmas, you can take your presents to Wrapsody, a new pop-up shop on Princess Road, Primrose Hill, to be gorgeously wrapped by Kirsten Westlake and her talented team.

I did just that with my mother’s gifts, which is why she is not allowed to read this. Four Philippa Gregory novels – which I massively recommend, by the way, for their gossipy bonkbuster treatment of history – plus a patterned shirt and cashmere cardigan from Liberty. Mum will love them, if she can bear to open them, now that they have been given the Wrapsody treatment and have become be-ribboned works of art.

Deftly and swiftly wrapping away, wrapologist Kirsten explained that she has a driving passion for wrapping gifts and never ever tires of it. She already has a large client base of private individuals and well-known brands and with her newly popped-up pop-up shop she is now able to offer a drop-in service – although for certainty, particularly as Christmas looms closer, you can also call to make an appointment. Your whole stash of presents, a one-off gift that needs super-special treatment: the Wrapsody team is ready for anything. Drop the gifts off to be collected later, make yourself comfortable on Kirsten’s sofas or let them deliver your presents back to you, the idea is to make the run-up to Christmas simpler and less stressful – so a big hurrah for that!

Being at the vanguard of Christmas preparations, Kirsten has already spotted trends for Noel 2015. Super-luxe advent calendars are in, such as the Liberty Beauty and the Artisan du Chocolat calendars; the NutriBullet is amazingly popular and so is the Sage kitchenware range by Heston Blumental, especially the risotto maker and the ice-cream machine. Last year’s key gift was cashmere. But whatever’s in the box, if it’s wrapped by Wrapology it will look stunning under the tree.

Prices start at £3 for wrapping a small box the size of a book, decorated with ribbon; a shoe-box size would be £5 and a large item, such as a coat, starts at £7, although Kirsten can be as extravagant with her wrapping as you budget allows. She also holds wrapology lessons for small groups or individuals; private lessons cost £30 per hour and she thinks that two hours is about right to revolutionise your wrapping.

The pop-up will be open for November and December.
