Primrose Hill’s Anna Dé has launched her new wedding and party-planning business, the wonderfully-named Anna Dé Dreams.
It was a lightbulb moment that gave Anna the inspiration for her new business. Staying with a friend in the South of France she realised that her delight in organising events for family and friends, coupled with her very strong project management skills, could be used to help others achieve their own dream celebrations.
“I am a true romantic” Anna told me, “and I love making people happy. And as well as my passion for the styling and creative aspects of party planning, I also love the logistics and meticulous planning of a special event. I believe that your wedding should be elegant, glamorous, romantic, reflect your personalities as a couple and most of all have that magical touch of je ne sais quoi.”
“Planning a wedding or a party is very much like conducting an orchestra,” she explained. Just as a conductor knows exactly how to bring musicians together to create the perfect symphony, Anna sees her role as understanding and identifying the elements of the dream party for any couple or individual and then knowing exactly how to put together the very best team to achieve that.
“Through our dream team of dedicated professionals, we draw together top suppliers and consultants, bringing dream weddings and parties to life, creating original, bespoke and seamless events, here in London and beyond.” And according to Anna, Primrose Hill is the perfect base for her new business: “I absolutely love living here in Primrose Hill. The atmosphere is wonderful, it really is like a country village yet almost in the centre of London. We are lucky enough to have the best of both worlds! With fantastic views of the London skyline, it’s a very unique place. Being based so close to central London I am ideally placed to organise weddings and parties all across the city, and also have access to some great suppliers locally. It’s an honour to work with local suppliers.”
What are Anna’s top tips for a successful wedding or party?
“The location must be absolutely heartfelt and right for the couple,” was her immediate response. If the venue really resonates with the hosts, she went on to explain, the party itself will already be imbued with meaning. After that, thought needs to be given to identifying exactly what will make the day special, as well as how best to engage and entertain the guests, always with the personalities and desires of couple or the individual firmly at the centre of all planning. Setting the scene and building up excitement ahead of time, perhaps through ‘save the date’ cards followed by invitations which hint at or establish the theme, is another powerful tool.
The average wedding takes over 250 hours to plan, Anna tells me, so her calm and efficient planning and management services can save the hosts countless hours, as well as ensuring they receive the best service and value from trusted suppliers.
For weddings, Anna – who trained at the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners (UKAWP) – offers a choice of three packages. On-the-day coordination, designed to alleviate the stresses of the day for the couple and to allow them to enjoy their celebration without worrying about the logistics, is priced at £1000; a second package has a cost of £1600 to enjoy Anna’s services for the final weeks before the wedding and on the big day itself. To have Anna’s full wedding planning and management service from start to finish, the cost is 12 – 15% of the total wedding budget. For parties she offers individual quotes. Find out what is included in each package here.
To celebrate the launch of Anna Dé Dreams, Anna organised for two brides-to-be to have a makeover at Lisa Hauck Hair and Beauty in preparation for their respective weddings.
Sarah (above) is getting married by the beach in the Netherlands in May 2018 and therefore wanted a beach-inspired, natural look, with her hair ‘half up, half down.’
Parisienne Eurydice (above), will have a city wedding in London in March 2018. She wanted a vintage look, with her hair up in a side bun.
And Anna is running a competition: “London Brides getting married in 2018 can win a complimentary bridal hair and make up trial session with Lisa at her award winning salon in North West London.
The winning name will be selected on Valentine’s day – Wednesday 14 February 2018.
Simply repost the photos on Instagram from our brides-to-be photoshoot and direct message us @lisahauck @annadedreams to enter the competition and get your chance to win this very generous and exciting prize.”
So pop the Champagne and let the wedding bells ring out; Anna is here to help us create the celebrations of our dreams.
