Le Tea Cosy, 51A Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8AX
When walking into Le Tea Cosy it felt like stepping into the Ile De Re. This is because of the yellow painting on the walls which gave it a strong summery feeling. As well as the pictures and French words written on the walls. This time the café was very busy with the staff being occupied by having to serve the different customers. This gave the café a sense of busyness.
We did not stint and took four crepes to taste the classic sugar and lemon was the focus. Supported by crepes with butter and Grand Marnier and a savoury with cheese and ham to round off the order. Like everything at Le Tea Cosy the crepes are produced with love and care. So time is warned but in fact they came quickly, and with a smile of course.
LEMON & SUGAR CREPE:
The lemon and sugar crepe had a soft exterior. On the outside you could see the lemon juice near the edge of the crepe. You could also see the white powdered sugar from this position as well. Whilst eating the crepe it tasted sweet with the lemon and sugar. This sweet taste was well spaced out through the crepe. As I ate towards the bottom of the crepe the lemon and sugar had formed a strong puddle at the bottom. This tasted like a small lemony sugar drink.
NUTELLA CREPE:
It was very nice and chocolatey. The Nutella complimented the crepe excellently. The crepe itself was delightful, soft and sweet.
HAM, CHEESE & EGG CREPE:
Some of the cheese had melted on the outside of the crepe. Herbs and pepper were also visible from the outside as well. When eating the crepe it had a strong herby taste. But after eating into it the tastes of ham and cheese were immediately there. They complimented each other well. Making it a healthy savoury snack.
SUZETTE:
The suzette was just right. The Grand Marnier was tasty and a nice compliment to the sugar and lemon. Perfect to warm and accompany a walk into and up Primrose Hill.
We had revisited Le Tea Cosy to savour the crepes and we were rewarded with a quick, reliable and delicious bite on the go. And prepared with great skill!
Have done well providing us with our crepes. They were quick and reliable to provide them to us. We were pleased with the assortment of crepes that we got from them. We are thankful towards them for their service.
