Primrose Corner is a popular local stalwart, crammed with a fantastically broad range of products to cover seemingly every need. And did you know they have just launched on Deliveroo?
Adam put his questionnaire to owner Zam, whose answers show the caring nature that makes him such a very familiar and popular figure in Primrose Hill.
How was Primrose Corner first established?
Historically, the shop has always been here. Probably dating back to the dinosaur age.
- Why does Primrose Corner have the black, white, and grey colours?
We like simplicity.
- Which products sell the most in your shop and why?
Torres crisps and Tony’s chocolate, who can resist these delicious snacks!
- Which products sell the least in your shop and why?
We find tobacco sales decreasing every year. I think everyone is more aware of their personal health- which is not a bad thing.
- What are the problems/ challenges that Primrose Corner faces?
The ease of having products delivered to our homes, it means we are seeing less people in store. But we are trying to adapt to that- we’ve just launched on Deliveroo.
- How does Primrose Corner benefit from being open in Primrose Hill?
It’s a beautiful part of the world and seems to attract lovely people. We feel so fortunate to have the customers we do.
- What have been the highlights of Primrose Corner being open in Primrose Hill?
I was thinking lockdown was a chance for us to shine during a really dark period of history. Making each interaction with customers a positive one and getting to know everyone better.
- What has been your favourite memory of working in Primrose Corner?
I think my favourite memories, are seeing all the kids grow up right in from of my eyes; from birth to adulthood. LIKE YOU.
- Which famous celebrities have been customers at Primrose Corner?
You name it, we’ve had them in.
What are your future plans for Primrose Corner and which direction do you think that it will be going in the future?
I’d love to see us incorporate more organic products and sustainable ways of distributing them. I always keep a lookout for the newest developments and hope to incorporate them in our store. It’s tough, as we have such limited space.
