Pancake day! This morning, Adam from iLPH went to review Sam’s Cafe’s pancakes for this year’s Shrove Tuesday. As ever, the atmosphere was full of energy and today had a special buzz for pancakes.
LEMON & SUGAR PANCAKES
The classic. After squeezing the lemon onto the pancake it smelled strongly of lemon with a background smell of sugar. This created an image in my mind of lemon and sugar ice cream. The pancakes tasted very sweetly of lemon combined with sugar. The texture was softly fluffy and at times they were very crispy. The strongest taste which came out of the pancakes was lemon. The pancakes left a sharp sweet citrusy taste in my mouth. Classic pancake perfection!
BUTTER & JAM PANCAKES
The pancakes tasted sweetly of strawberry jam. When I came to eating the butter part it tasted strongly of strawberry jam merged with butter. This created a taste for me of a buttery strawberry jam tart. The pancakes’s texture was softly fluffy and at times very crispy. After I had finished eating it there was a strong taste in my mouth of sweet strawberry jam.
Sam’s Cafe’s pancakes are highly recommended by iLPH. If you haven’t already make sure you go over there to try some for breakfast. You should head over there this month since it is Shrove Tuesday today!
