MARTIN SHEPPARD’S & WILLEMIJN BOL’s PRIMROSE HILL in OLD POSTCARDS

Advertisements

Martin Sheppard whom I am sure many of you have heard of, know of, and love, is a well known local historian. He will be joined by Willemijn Bol who has collected over two hundred historic local postcards. This talk will be addressing more about Primrose Hill’s historical background. You will be able to find out more about what our neighbourhood was like before the First World War.

The talk will be featuring striking photographic postcards dating from the 1890s to 1914. These photographs show what Primrose Hill and still surviving buildings looked like then. They also show many of the demolished buildings which once existed in the area.

Martin Sheppard, the main historian of Primrose Hill, will talk about what the postcards tell us. Willemijn Bol, who has collected of over two hundred historic local postcards, will explain how she acquired her collection and why these photographs from before the age of the car are so fascinating.

Primrose Hill Community Centre, Hopkinsons Place, NW1 8TN.
