THE ALBERT PUB BURGER THURSDAY DEAL

iLPH investigates…..

The Albert Pub in Primrose Hill is doing a deal on Thursday where it only costs £20 for a burger and any selected drink. The Albert Pub is known just to be around the corner from London Zoo and the closest local to Regent’s park. When first walking into the pub it felt like stepping back in time because of its old fashioned Victorian style and despite having been modernised it still retains the feel of a pub with the heritage of most of two centuries.

The pub was very quiet at 12 am for lunch on a Thursday. This made the atmosphere so quiet that you forget other people are there; indeed we frequently see people having an indulgent early evening read in here. What strongly stood out in the Albert was the painting of the old fashioned military officer. This was the most distinctive of the heritage paintings and images in the bar area. We love the signage and lettering and colouring that are more than a nod to a bygone age.

LEEDS PALE CASK ALE:

Whilst awaiting the burger I sipped The Leeds Pale Cask Ale. For me this was an enjoyable aroma and tastes similar to sweet passion fruit. Drinking the Leeds Pale suited the relaxingly cool environment within the pub. We could have hit the garden but the inside had the right pub vibe for us.

ALBERT BEEF BURGER:

The Albert beef Burger tasted deliciously crunchy with the lettuce, onion and bacon. The strongest tastes were of the meat and cheese. The burger sauce left a sweet taste in my mouth. When eating the chips the images of roast potatoes came into my mind. A lovely salad was created through the different parts of the burger.

A different meal deal to what you find elsewhere, which adds to the variety to be found around the Hill and worked perfectly for me in an iconic environment. Enjoy!
