FRIDAY 22 JANUARY, 7PM, PRIMROSE HILL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION.
Photographer Lars Christiansen is hosting an evening dedicated to three of his passions: photography, music and mixology. Come along and see his collection of work including portraits of local residents and photographs of the area to celebrate his love of Primrose Hill.
The Community Association, on Hopkinsons Place, off Fitzroy Road, will be renamed ‘The Fitzroy Club’ for the evening; and the scene will be set to enjoy inspirational photography while sampling Lars’s cocktails, created from organic, local produce especially for the event.
The music will be current sounds mixed with hits recorded in the legendary Mayfair Recording Studio in Primrose Hill. Expect a few surprises.
Make sure this very special evening is a date in your January diary. The profit from the cocktails will go to the community centre.
This event has been made possible by a sponsorship from our friends at http://www.redpropertypartnership.co.uk and Nicolas Wines. More information on http://www.onthehill.pics.
Lars Christiansen has worked as a professional photographer and filmmaker for more than 40 years.
He told me,
“For years, I travelled the world shooting still photography for travel agencies and filming travel shows and commercials in more than 50 countries. More recently, however, I have settled in London and now shoot most of my recreational pictures close to my home in Primrose Hill.
Primrose Hill appears to be an inexhaustible source of motifs, the well-known view of the London skyline being just one of them.
I used to live amid the bustle and noise of Cambridge Circus and Old Street but I much prefer the tranquillity of Primrose Hill.
We still have that village feeling here. We actually know our neighbours which is quite uncommon in central London. The diversity of the local residents fascinates me – from high earners to people on a shoestring, the famous to the unknown – writers, rock stars, politicians, builders, hedge fund managers, painters, professional gamblers – all seem to blend in nicely and everybody has a story to tell. But we all have one thing in common: we love Primrose Hill.”
