Open call for artists at Beside The Wave London, Primrose Hill
Deadline: 9th July, 5pm
Open submission show dates: 20th July – 13th September
To celebrate their second anniversary in Primrose Hill, Beside The Wave London are calling all artists to submit work for an open group show. The theme of the show is ‘Place’ which is encouraged to be interpreted in the artist’s own way.
Gallery manager Claire Pearce explains, “We want to really welcome in the creativity that surrounds us with this show. The majority of our exhibitions in the two years we have now been in Primrose Hill have been showcasing the contemporary Cornish art scene – our home ground with our sister gallery in Falmouth, Cornwall. Now we feel equally at home between the two, so warmly welcomed in by the amazing community here, and want to reflect that in our shows.
“We have met a lot of artists during our time here and know there is a wealth of talent to draw from. We’re opening up the show to all art forms and would love to see 3D work put forward – our ceramics have always received so much attention from the day that we moved in.
“The theme of place can be interpreted in any way. It could literally be landscape-inspired artwork or it could be linked by the locality of the artist. We are very much looking forward to being surprised.”
Artists who would like to put forward work for the show are asked to submit up to 3 images of artworks via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 9th of July, 5 pm. The show will open in the gallery with a big celebratory private view on Thursday 20th July, 6-8pm and run until Wednesday 13th September.
