It will then re-open again for bids from guests on the night, which will be hosted by comedian Jo Brand. There will also be fine dining and entertainment from soul singer and M People star Heather Small and BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills.
A separate live auction, for guests only, will also offer attendees another chance to win a host of incredible prizes – including a Balthazar of champagne signed by Absolutely Fabulous’ Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders.
Tickets are still available and all money raised through the event will fund more Macmillan nurses, who are there for patients and their loved ones for everything from information about treatment, care and finances, to offering a helping hand at home or in hospital.
Macmillan hopes to raise enough from the Winter Gala to pay for at least five new roles around the country to help improve the lives of even more people living with cancer.
Events manager Rebecca Harfield added: “We’re really excited about the range of exclusive prizes we’ve been donated. Our nurses do so much to improve the lives of people affected by cancer and their families by providing them advice, emotional support and care, and our new festive fundraiser – and these money-can’t-buy prizes – will enable them to reach even more.”
