Gather together and celebrate the season at home. One of the greatest joys of Christmas for me is eating up the leftovers, which manages to feel indulgent and virtuous at the same time – not something that happens often in life!
Melrose and Morgan are always my first port of call. Their storecupboard of pickles, crackers, chocolates, teas, coffees, you-name-its, is first-rate, and you can also order anything you need, up to and including a whole Christmas dinner.
Primrose Hill Butchers sell fantastic meats of all kinds. Plenty of chat too – Les and the team really take the time to get to know their customers and make sure they are happy.
Sweet Things for gorgeous cakes and much more besides – including savoury things…
Anthony’s Deli sells charcuterie and cheeses and all manner of great quality pastas, jars, breads and biscuits. You can also stay for a great coffee. No website though.
Nicolas has a great staff who give great advice on pairing wine to the occasion. A really lovely selection to choose from.
Yeomans sell a lovely range of fruit, veg, flowers and fresh juices, and you can even buy your Christmas tree from them.
