On a tranquil Thursday afternoon, iLovePrimroseHill embarked on a delightful exploration of Roni’s Bagel Bakery and Café. The cafe exuded a sense of calm, partly because of the modest crowd at that time of day.
Here’s what we had to eat and drink:
STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE: A Berrylicious Adventure
The Strawberry Milkshake at Roni’s was a sweet symphony of strawberries and cream. A whimsical touch was added with its bubbly purple surface, offering a unique visual treat.
LEMON DRIZZLE CAKE: Zesty Delight in Every Bite
The Lemon Drizzle Cake presented a classic facade with its typical lemon icing, but it surprised with a nuanced texture. While the top and sides boasted a slightly firmer profile, the cake’s interior unfolded in a delightful softness, generously studded with lemon zest shreds.
THE CHICKEN: A Pinnacle of Poultry Perfection
Roni’s mastery extended to their Chicken dish. Impeccably cooked, the chicken exuded a moist succulence, complemented by a fantastic seasoning that tantalized the taste buds. A culinary triumph that allowed the meat to effortlessly peel off the bone.
THE HAM AND MUSTARD PICKLE SANDWICH: A Solid Delight for Sandwich Aficionados
While not groundbreaking, the Ham and Mustard Pickle Sandwich at Roni’s proved a reliable choice for those seeking a satisfying, no-frills sandwich. A testament to the cafe’s commitment to delivering quality in simplicity.
CHAI LATTE AND VEGAN CARROT CAKE: A Harmony of Warmth and Sweetness
The Chai Latte embraced a delightful sweetness with notes of cinnamon, creating a comforting warmth that resonated on a chilly day. Paired with the Vegan Carrot Cake, the duo formed a symphony of flavours, the cake’s sweetness and cinnamon undertones perfectly complementing the aromatic chai.
Despite minor discord among the servers, Roni’s Bagel Bakery and Café manages to charm with its diverse offerings. From the delectable Chicken to the comforting Chai Latte, each dish carries a distinct character that adds to the eclectic charm of this Primrose Hill gem. A culinary haven worth exploring for both locals and the visitors to Primrose Hill.
The total bill came to £35.75, which included a £3.25 service charge.
