PESANTISSIMO is an Italian restaurant located on Primrose Hill High Street that is known for serving authentic Italian cuisine. iLPH got to experience their Unreal Lunch Deal; a 3 course set menu for £15.95. This comprised a clever and delicious choice of starters, mains and desserts. Along with the delightful service and setting in the sun the food was as good as we had just experienced around the lakes of Northern Italy!
Sitting outside Pesantissimo gave you the feeling of waiting for your meal outside a restaurant located centrally within an Italian city. But then you do have to remember that you are actually eating in Primrose Hill High Street. Just as fabulous!
The Buffala starter tasted sweetly with the sea salt, olive oil and vinegar mixed in with the rocket leaves, buffalo mozzarella, kalamata olives, tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil. This left a lasting light taste of sea salt mixed with olive oil and rocket leaves.
The Pizza Funghi was as good as it looks; redolent with mushrooms and mozzarella cheese that you could actually taste. The Torta Della Nonna dessert was a sweet citrusy pastry. Super way to end the meal with the sensation of lemon mixed with pine nuts and almonds.
I also brought a companion that meant we got to experience even more of this authentic menu. The pineapple and avocado starter was incredibly fresh and delicious. A really great flavour combination further enhanced by sea salt, pepper, olive oil and balsamic.
And the big test, the rissotto! This was better than any I had in Italy this summer. Depth of flavour, wonderful artichoke, spinach and olives, sprinkled with parmesan. More than nailed it!
This lunch was fantastic value at £15.95. Beautiful dishes, an excellent menu, generous portions, very kind and friendly service. Highly recommended for a great value, indulgent lunch break.
iLPH can safely say, if you want to taste Italy, come to Pesantissimo!
