Lemonia – A LITTLE BIT OF THE MED IN THE HILL

Lemonia is now iconic within Primrose Hill. Indeed it seems it always has been! Fabulous owners and a waiting staff that never ages and remains charming and amusing. We went on a Friday to enjoy the weekday three course set lunch for £19.50.

We found the traditional Lemonia buzz as many locals had sought sustenance and company ahead of the weekend. For a special menu the choice was wide ranging and appetising; with mix and match available. We of course had the hummus and house pitta whilst we chose!

The starters set off on a great path with Fagges (Lentil Soup), chilled prawns and avocado with smoked salmon on sesame toast. The fish appeared in the mains with deep fried haddock, sea bass and grilled tuna reminding us of what the Mediterranean can provide! To finish the creme caramel and yoghurt with berries, honey and nuts. A lovely set of combinations available.

We accompanied this with Bollinger as we were celebrating an engagement! I therefore did not get a chance to tuck in to the great wine list of local Med favourites; a superb set of choices and very reasonable price points. And the set lunch had a couple of half bottles on offer. I was however able to sneak in a Keo beer and one of my companions enjoyed the Aperol Spritz, a Primrose Hill favourite and even more of a favourite at £8 at lunchtime!

I had the coffee instead of the desert and like everything at Lemonia it was suitably authentic and so able to hold up my spoon! All in all a lovely special offer weekday luncheon menu in a lovely location!
